Founded in 2019 by Abhishek Ravi, Minutemen Racing started as a small team of 15 students. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we emerged stronger and more determined. Today, we are a diverse team of 50 members, united by a shared passion for motorsport, engineering, and innovation. With expertise ranging from welding and mechanics to CAD design, our team is a dynamic force both on and off the track.

Our mission is to design, build, and compete with a Formula-style race car at the Formula SAE competition in May 2026 in Brooklyn, Michigan, and we are working tirelessly to make this dream a reality.

Inspired by the spirit of the UMass mascot, the Minuteman, we embody qualities such as enthusiasm, reliability, strength, and resilience. Just as the Minutemen of history were always prepared for action, every member of our team is committed to excellence and ready to tackle new challenges.

The name Minutemen Racing reflects this spirit of readiness and determination. We continuously push the boundaries of our skills and strive for growth with every project. As we build our race car, we also develop into future engineers and leaders, honing our teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and technical expertise.
